Who is keane music

For their next project, Keane chose to pursue a different direction, returning in with a slightly retooled sound -- including the presence of electric guitar -- and a new album, Perfect Symmetry. The synth-packed effort was their third straight number one in the U. The worldly set was also notable for bringing Rice-Oxley to the fore as vocalist for "Your Love.

Desolation with a tour in support of their self-titled debut. When that wrapped, Keane got back together to record their next album. Following an international support tour, Keane delivered The Best of Keane collection -- which compiled previously unreleased singles, a collection of B-sides, and their most well-known songs -- before going on a hiatus that would last almost a decade. During that time, Chaplin spiraled into addiction, emerging years later in with his solo debut, The Wave , which charted the course of his struggles and recovery efforts.

He also released a holiday album Twelve Tales of Christmas. Meanwhile, Rice-Oxley and Quin delivered another Mt. Desolation album, When the Night Calls , in Rice-Oxley was also in the midst of his own real-life troubles, including a painful divorce, which heavily informed Keane 's big comeback.

Seven years after their previous album, Keane returned in with their fifth effort, Cause and Effect. Masking the pain of the lyrical content, the LP featured typically soaring sonics that extended Strangeland 's matured pop sheen and dipped back to familiar tones from their s heyday. Xfm were on the case, too, with Clare Sturgess requesting a session from the band, while a Sunday Times profile noted that Keane were responsible for "three and a half minutes of pure pop loveliness.

But that seems like quite a rare thing these days. I don't think there are many bands that are making music which actually means anything. There's nothing to identify with. Keane's first UK tour saw Tom, Richard and Tim performing at venues up and down the country to audiences of between five and people. Their original guitar player, Dominic Scott, left the band in July to return to his studies, and the band decided to use that opportunity to develop their sound in a new direction: sans guitar.

Simon Williams caught the Betsey Trotwood gig, and asked Keane to put out a single on his label. By the time spring rolled around, the guys were out on the road again, and labels were continually being offered.

The band's full-length debut,Hopes and Fears, appeared the following spring. It hit the top of the U. By summer , they were opening select dates on U2's Vertigo world tour and enjoying their success. Stateside summer shows coincided its June release. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard Top album chart during its first week of release. I was off doing my solo thing and pretty happy doing that. So I phoned him up and he came over one Christmas a couple of years back and we talked a lot and the subject of what he had been doing with his writing came up.

And obviously that means a Keane record, right? Then we all got together and talked about it and the rest is history. From a production point of view, we just went into the studio wanting to be pushed by our producer, David Kosten, and to not sound like you would expect the next Keane record to sound, or to not sit back and do the things we would have done before.

Although I think there is quite a lot of pop influences in some of the new songs.
