When do vegeta and bulma fall in love

Vegeta and Bulma first met briefly on Planet Namek, however, at this point, he did not know her name. Bulma had been hiding out in a cave on Namek to keep safe, and at one point, Vegeta follows Krillin there without his knowledge to try and steal the Dragon Ball from him. Bulma is there and he threatens to kill her if Krillin doesn't hand over the ball. The enemy Zarbon shows up as well to take the ball, and of course, due to his good looks, Bulma flaunts over him and thinks he will be her 'knight in shining armor'.

We are not sure if Vegeta remembers Bulma from this brief encounter, however. Bulma and Vegeta had a rough start due to his blatant disregard for her or their son and only caring about his training. Bulma had said on multiple occasions that he was plenty strong and didn't have to push himself so hard in the gravity chamber. Vegeta was too overcome by pride and was always focused on overcoming his limitations to listen.

As their relationship progresses after they are wed, Vegeta still trains, and even though it may look to Bulma like he is ignoring his responsibilities as a father and husband, he insists that he is training so he can protect them. Unlike the other relationships of Dragon Ball, Vegeta and Bulma's first child, Trunks, was born out of wedlock. The two were not married at the time of his conception and it was most likely that they were in a heated affair during the brief time between Bulma's breakup with Yamcha, and Vegeta leaving Earth to train.

Even though their relationship is unconventional, they are the most developed couple in the series, from hating each other, to loving each other. During one of Bulma's birthday parties, a fight between Vegeta and Beerus, a God of Destruction, ensues over something as trivial as a pudding cup. Accusing them both of ruining her part of this petty squabble, Bulma confronts Beerus, not knowing he is a God and slaps him in the face.

Vegeta looks on in horror and begs him not to hurt her, but Beerus slaps her back. She is knocked unconscious and Vegeta cries out in rage over her. To everyone's surprise, Vegeta turns Super Saiyan and attacks him, landing some blows. Master Roshi exclaims that his anger over his wife being hit has made him strong than Goku. Beerus is not hurt at all, but Vegeta did put up a decent fight.

She also loves animals, art, fashion, photography and travel, as she has vacationed in Japan at least once a year since Has a bachelors degree in Studio Arts as well as a completed a continued education course on becoming a veterinary assistant. Bulma is a headstrong and pushy woman whose love lies in science and not in martial arts. Vegeta, on the other hand, was a proud warrior who cared not for others' lives and only wanted to get strong.

But as time went on the two formed a bond and came to love one another as husband and wife. So while the couple has grown to be quite endearing to watch, if you start digging a little bit deeper, it's easy to come to the conclusion that this relationship is the darkest one in the franchise. At the time they got together, these people should have stayed far away from each other as possible. Well, that's where I'm going to dive in with some facts about their relationship.

Now to be clear, I'm not talking about this relationship when it first happened. But as time went on, it's clear that there really isn't any other mates that make more sense for these two than their significant other. Let's start with the Prince of All Saiyans first. Vegeta spent most of his life training as a fighter or serving in Frieza's army, so he wasn't going to have much time to explore the dating world.

After all, I don't think there's space Tinder. But thanks to an explanation from Vegeta in episode 31 of Dragon Ball Super , we get the reason why he's attracted to Bulma so much: "To be honest, I like her feistiness. Speaking to Goku We're wired that way, didn't you know? Saiyans only like strong women. On Bulma's end, the relationship undoubtedly started out as one of pure physical attraction that resulted in her being pregnant.

But at the end of the Cell saga, Vegeta decided to settle down with her and raise Trunks. In this time, Vegeta mellowed out significantly and showed off his more sensitive and emotional side, something only Bulma has ever really seen.

Also, Bulma is a little shallow and likes strong muscly men. Future Trunks' timeline is a messed up world. As we all know, the defining feature of this world is that Goku lost his life for good before Androids 17 and 18 emerged from their pods to unleash their cyborg wrath on the world.

Even when that threat was defeated, Goku Black and Zamasu came and did so much damage that Zeno decided to erase the reality from existence. But you know what really is the worst part about this timeline? Bulma and Vegeta never got together! In this timeline, we never see Vegeta dancing for Lord Beerus. That is the ultimate tragedy. Oh sure, they did their thing which eventually resulted in the birth of Trunks, but aside from that, nothing happened.

Just as he did in the regular timeline, Vegeta went off into space after having his time with Bulma to train and become a Super Saiyan. Two years after Mecha Frieza is defeated, Future Goku succumbs to the heart virus leaving Vegeta crushed as he never gets the chance to defeat his rival in battle.

Six months later, he meets his own demise after Android 17 blasts him out of this world with a Photon Flash. Future Trunks grows up without a father and never sees his father change into the decent man that our Trunks knows well. Power in the world of Dragon Ball is kind of an important thing. After all, power levels and power scaling are still something that a large swath of fans yammer on about to this day.

And yes, if we go by pure physical power, then the strongest couple probably wouldn't be Vegeta and Bulma as Bulma has never shown an aptitude for martial arts. But I still believe that they would be able to wreck all other couples in the series in a fight. Let's start with the obvious powerhouse of the two; Vegeta. While he may be slightly behind Goku in terms of power, he's still on relatively equal footing and would surely give Earth's mightiest defender the fight of his life, meaning that he is not to be trifled with.

With his massive energy blasts, crushing strikes, and various transformations, Vegeta is one of the strongest in the universe. Now onto Bulma. For what she lacks in physical strength, Bulma makes up for in her scientific knowledge. Given enough prep time, it's possible that Bulma would be able to whip some technological gadget that could incapacitate her foes, or at the very, least buff her husband to the point where he would be unstoppable.

Even if you do slay Bulma, you do not want to deal with a ticked-off Vegeta. So good luck with that. News flash; when Vegeta first came to Earth, he was not the same man he is today. Instead of the endearing and loving jerk that he is now, he was more along the lines of a Genghis Kahn jerk. You know, the one where you don't invite to parties because he would leave your house in a state of burning abyss.

But what does it say about Bulma that she ended up marrying the man who caused her one-time boyfriend to be destroyed in a meme for the ages? As if it wasn't easy enough to dunk on Yamcha for his shortcomings. Before Vegeta and his trusty underling, Nappa, decided that they were going to fight the Z-Fighters, they wanted to test our heroes with creatures that the Saiyans used to train; the Saibamen. Even though Yamcha won his fight against the green creature, he didn't count on the fact that these monsters are willing to off themselves and it exploded while latching itself onto Yamcha's chest.

Now yes, while the ending blow didn't come from Vegeta's hand, it still came from a creature that he unleashed on Yamcha. At this time, Bulma was still in a relationship with that man. I wonder if Bulma and Vegeta laugh about this over a campfire ever. In the real world that would be the one where there are no alien monkeys with golden hair the royal wedding just occurred not too long ago.

While some people may enjoy those things, others detest them for the fact that it's basically an excuse for the rich and powerful to have others drool at their wealth. Well, if we extend that logic to Bulma and Vegeta, they would be annoying as heck in our world. Yes, we understand that Bulma has worked hard for what she has as she is a scientific wiz but let's not forget that she was born into her wealth because of how successful her father was. Vegeta grew up as a prince so it's fair to say that he lived a life of luxury during the early years of his childhood.

When he came to Earth, all he had to do was train as Bulma would pay for any expenses he would have. The ultimate demonstration of their privilege though has to be Bulma's 38th birthday party. Any parents reading can likely back me up on this; it's important for parents to be on the same page when it comes to raising your kids.

Now, Chi-Chi and Goku suffer from having widely different values and worldviews, which caused tension for their kids. Thankfully for Trunks and Bra, their ma and pa are on the same page. If nothing else, their diaper wrapping skills are incredible. While Trunks is spoiled in a way that is unavoidable with how rich Bulma is, it's not like he's had everything handed to him. Both parents know the value of hard work as Vegeta has trained to become one of the strongest fighters who ever lived and Bulma has been a scientist in the highly respected Capsule Corporation since she was young.

While Trunks may have been a disrespectful brat in the Buu saga, I'd let that slide considering he was 7 years old and in Dragon Ball Super he has matured quite a bit. The fact that Trunks turned out this way with the parents he had says something to their parenting skills. Considering how much more acclimated Vegeta is to Earth now, I think Bra is in good hands. Unlike western kids' shows, Japanese anime isn't afraid to have their heroes straight-up end the lives of villains and vice versa. Whereas superhero shows here might just send someone off to another dimension or leave their fates ambiguous, Dragon Ball doesn't hide behind any of that.

While this is cool, it also highlights a pretty big problem with Bulma's attraction to Vegeta; she has issues, dude. Before Vegeta began to be a quasi-protector of Earth in the Cell saga, he was either a straight-up villain or an ally only because of circumstance.

Before he ever arrives on Earth in the Saiyan saga, we're made aware of just how bad of a dude he is by being told that he and Nappa conquer entire planets. If that isn't enough, their very first act when arriving on our planet is destroying a city without regard for human life. When Vegeta wanted the Dragon Balls from the heroes, he had no trouble blatantly threatening to kill them if they didn't hand the Dragon Balls over. Though in some versions of the story, he does later think of Bulma as being a gorgeous woman after meeting her, so apparently the seeds had been planted even then.

It can be hard to tell what age Saiyans are since they stay in their prime for so long, but believe it or not, when Vegeta first showed up, he was only a year older than Bulma. She was 29, while Vegeta was Due to Vegeta's fixation on training, that age gap between them has increased by an additional five years. In the universal tournament saga of Super Bulma is 47 and Vegeta is now This is thanks to Vegeta's training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where time passes far more quickly than outside the chamber.

Multiple training sessions in the chamber only amounted to a few days past in the outside world, but for Vegeta several years went by.

Of course this is nothing compared to some of the other age changes Dragon Ball has seen. For instance Emperor Pilaf and his gang have regressed back into being children thanks to a wish using the Dragon Balls. Still, Bulma might be hoping Vegeta takes it easy before he's old enough to be her dad. Something that confused many people during Dragon Ball Super was the situation involving Pan and Bulla. Prior to Super , most people knew these characters best from Dragon Ball GT , where Pan looks like a preteen girl, and Bulla looks like a teenager.

Because of this, many people believe that Bulla is the older girl. The Dragon Ball guidebook Daizenshuu 7 also seems to confirm this, saying Bulla was born in the year and Pan in However, none of this is actually true, according to DBZ or Super.

All other sources on the age of both girls has Pan still being listed as being born in , while Bulla is supposed to have been born in This shocked many fans who were convinced Bulla was older.

Super seems to have finally put the situation to rest by showing Bulla being born after Pan, but Vegeta and Bulma's daughter has caused a lot of confusion. Like Goku, Vegeta is not into getting a paying job since he'd rather train. Vegeta feels his contribution to the household balances out because he is a protector, but his track record in that regard isn't so good.

We see this going all the way back to DBZ , where Bulma and baby Trunks are nearly blown out of the sky by Android 20, but Vegeta doesn't do a thing to try and save them. Vegeta grew more compassionate with time, but his success at avenging Bulma is still abysmal.

He certainly had no luck at getting revenge against Buu after the villain killed Bulma. Everyone recalls Vegeta getting furious and attacking Beerus after the latter slaps Bulma, but Vegeta soon lost that battle.

Then, when Frieza returned in Super and endangered Bulma by firing an energy blast at her during his fight with Goku, Vegeta stopped the blast, but never managed to defeat Frieza. Lastly we saw this again when Bulma tried to subdue Zamasu by pretending to be attracted to him, only for Zamasu to render her unconscious.

Once again, Vegeta failed to beat Zamasu, leaving him with a really bad success rate of defending his wife. This one probably isn't a big secret if you're the type of person who knows Akira Toriyama names his characters according to themes like all of Frieza's race having cold-related names , but you may have missed it if you aren't a vegetable aficionado.

In the episode of Super where Bulma reveals her and Vegeta's daughter will be named Bulla, Vegeta initially protests. He says he wants to give her a Saiyan name, suggesting Eschalot. That's probably not a word most people have heard, but an eschalot is just an onion. This fits with the theme of how all the pure-blooded Saiyans in Dragon Ball have vegetable-related names. But it makes sense that this would get shut down since Bulla is not a pure Saiyan.

Still, lots of people noticed Bulla's head was basically drawn like an onion, so the joke is conveyed, even if you don't know what an eschalot is. Though Eschalot might have been a better name since everyone in Bulma's family is named after underwear, so Bulla is really a word that means Bra. Having family members that appear out of nowhere sure is a common occurrence in Dragon Ball. DBZ kicks off with Goku finding out he has a long lost brother named Raditz, and then Frieza's dad King Cold pops up out of nowhere to save his son, followed shortly after by Trunks arriving from the future and announcing he's the son of Vegeta and Bulma.

So when it turned out Vegeta and Bulma had more relatives they never once mentioned, it was quite par for the course. Son Goku and His Friends Return!! As for Bulma? She really has no excuse since her sister Tights actually is canon, first appearing in Jaco the Galactic Patrolman. Apparently Bulma just never mentioned her sister for like fifteen years, not even to invite Tights to her wedding.
